Dual Enrollment for Career Technical Programs Become a Reality
Thursday, October 30, 2008

Students enrolled in career technical programs at the Countys' two career technical schools can now receive high school and college credit at the same time.  Students who take courses in Welding, Building Construction, Automotive Technology and Drafting can earn anywhere from 3 credits to 14 credits toward a short term training certificate through Faulkner State Community College.  Students must meet certain requirements before enrolling in the program and some may actually walk out of high school not only with their high school diploma, they may also have complete the program at Faulkner through a new partnership between the tech schools, the Board of Education and Faulkner State Community College.  This new partnership involves approximately 90 students from South Baldwin Center for Technology this term.
